I have really enjoyed the grooming class, having been a pet owner for 2 years there was a lot I did not know. The handouts and instruction by Mary Ann was very informative and being a small class I felt we received more one on one help.
I knew a lot went into grooming but I never realized how precise the clipping and even the bathing had to be. I feel the facilities in the class room were excellent for grooming.
I would recommend the class to anyone who wants to go into business for themselves or just wants to know how to property care for their own pets. Over all I feel that the class was interesting, informative and fun.

I liked taking this class for several reasons, one is I got to meet some new people, and make friends, and as for the instructor, Mary Ann, well she is a hoot. We have all laughed at each other while learning the proper way to groom a dog and run a business. She has been great.
But I think the most important reason for taking the class is the fact that I have always wanted to run my own business. This class has given me that chance. Always working for someone else has proven the fact that you will never get ahead in life working for the other fellow.
I have an excitement for having my own shop that I have never had before. I have a reason to get up every day and it feels good. Now all I have to do is find just the right place and get to work on it. Like with any other career you learn the in's and out's in class, but, you get a real education once you get on your own and actually get your hands wet so to speak. So look out Wynne Arkansas you have a new dog groomer coming to town and life as you know it will never be the same.
(By the way Mitzi has found her a shop and the electricity was turned on Feb. 19, 2007 so everyone wish her well. I know that she will do just great. Just remember I am just a telephone call away for any of my students and time.)

I learned that there is more to cleaning a dog than just giving them a bath. After the bath you have to brush them and blow dry them and that takes a while depending on the type of dog you are cleaning. Certain dogs have certain hair cuts than others and then the owners have their ways of wanting them cut. I learned not to be so afraid to loosing up and do what needs to be done. If you are not comfortable doing something it will show later on after you are done grooming the dog. My one fear was plucking the dogs ears for instants the dog may not like it but in the end it will make them a lot healthier. and happier. If I were to not pluck the ears the way they needed to be plucked and take the extra time to make sure I did it right I could have caused the dog pain later on as the hair grew thicker and got dirtier. I also learned about the vein in the toe nail that you have to look for when cutting their toe nails. If I didn't know there was a vein in there I could have caused major pain and trouble for the dog. I also got to discover the anal sacs. Yeah that was a lot of fun! Now I know what to look for and how to handle the problem when it comes up.
The part I liked most about the class was the hands on part, but reading the material helps a lot because now I have the papers to look back on when I am not quit sure about something. I also liked the people I took the class with, without them I don't know how it would have gone. Having you as my teacher was great too. You are very confident in your work and it shows. You're very easy to talk to also I had no problem asking a question about something that I didn't quit understand.
In closing I would like to say thank you very much for the chance to take this class and for the time you took out of your own time to teach us. I wouldn't change anything abut the things I learned and experienced in these past few weeks. So once again thank you!

All in all this was a very informative and good experience for me. I believe you have a difficult task organizing and putting into function an important and exciting school as yours. I think you are doing a wonderful work here. I think it is difficult to decide how you should do it. I think God has set your hand to this, and you have a wonderful opportunity to prosper under His hand. I think He is pleased with you. I think you should take tremendous satisfaction in knowing what a wonderful, amazing thing you are doing for so many people.
Don't ever come to a place in your life where you say I am too old for change. God can and does protect His children every day. Paul says he is not perfect yet, but he is always pressing in to God desiring perfection. I know God wants to do a work in you, but you have to be willing to let Him. I love you and desire the very best God has for you.

I felt I was to old to learn something new, but was I ever wrong. I have had a blast, it just went by to fast. Oh well that is what happens when you are having fun. Will miss everyone but good luck to all, and thanks Mary Ann & Donald for helping me acquire something I know I am going to love.

I have had a great experience at this school. Even though I learned to groom from someone else, there was a lot I didn't know. Mrs. Mary Ann taught me valuable techniques that will help in my career. I have really enjoyed getting to know the girls & my teacher. My favorite part was the way I felt after grooming the standard poodle, that was really in bad shape. He showed us how happy he was to look & feel better.

Mrs. Mary, has an extreme amount of knowledge & skills & she is willing to offer each student exactly what they need. The exposure to the "real world" of grooming was an excellent experience for all students. While it was work & school, it was also fun! Mrs. Mary & Mr. Donald make you feel as if you are part of their family & they are both examples we all could look up to & be proud to be a part.

I would recommend Arkansas Pet Grooming School. Why? The lessons are on-line & you can study right at home. When you finish the lessons. Then you go to the school & that's when the fun begins. You get hands0on experience. Mary is there to show, answer, & help you learn the technique of pet grooming.
I'm glad I decide on Arkansas Pet Grooming School. I know I still have many things to learn that only time & experience will make me the groomer I would like to be. I knew if I trust in God he will lead me through.

My experience with Arkansas Pet Grooming School was very fulfilling and productive. The course was very intense with the emphasis on gaining practical experience in dog grooming. This school is a no frill no hype means of becoming a qualified dog groomer in a very short amount of time (2 weeks).
I would recommend this school to anyone with a busy life style that cannot afford to sacrifice a lot of time to receive an education in dog grooming. Mary Ann is teaching the same skills she learned many years ago in a formal school setting for those eager to learn.
